Barry Baldwin, a 35-year-old New York man has been charged with hate crimes in connection with seven "knockout" assaults, including attacks on two elderly woman and a mother walking with her daughter.

Thug Linked to Multiple ‘Knockout’ Attacks Arrested

Assemblyman Dov Hikind announced Thursday night that an important arrest has been made in conjunction with at least three of the Knockout attacks that occurred in Brooklyn over the past weeks. A male was taken into custody and identified by three separate women who said he had attacked them.

“I am eager to share this news with our community because everyone will sleep a little easier,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “As shocking and frightening as these attacks have proven to not only the victims but all of us, everywhere, we are also equally grateful to our excellent police officers who have addressed these crimes quickly and seriously. I have only the highest praise for the NY City Police Department, the Hate Crimes Unit, the 66th and 70th precincts, and the other units involved in this case.”

The man who was arrested is believed to be the attacker of a 20-year-old young woman on McDonald Ave., in Midwood (who was hit in the head on the Sabbath and knocked to the ground), of a woman who was attacked on Elm Ave. while she was out with her young daughter (also on the Sabbath), and of an elderly Russian woman.

Following the arrest, the three women identified their attacker out of a line-up on Sunday. Today, the victims testified in front of a Grand Jury.

“I will be watching this case closely,” said Hikind, who has remained in touch with several of the victims’ families. “This arrest is welcome news to all of us, but I continue to urge caution. No one in our community should live in fear, but prudence is always advisable.”

Update: Perpetrator linked to seven ‘Knockout’ Attacks

From VIN News:

Reps for the NYPD are now reporting that the 35 year-old serial “Knockout” perp previously charged in three attacks, has now been linked to seven, occurring between November 9 and Christmas Eve.

The NYPD released a statement late on Friday that Barry Baldwin of Brooklyn—-who was taken into custody last Sunday by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force—-is responsible for at least seven of the unprovoked attacks, all of which involved white women, most of whom were Jewish.

Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who praised the NYPD for snagging Baldwin in a VIN News interview on Thursday, said linking Baldwin to the additional attacks should give Brooklynites some peace of mind.

“Everyone will sleep a little easier,” said Hikind of the fear the attacks have brought to Brooklyn’s neighborhoods.

Baldwin, who hails from East New York and has no prior record, is now charged with six counts of assault and six counts of aggravated harassment—-all as hate crimes, and attempted assault.

Nine attacks have been reported since October, but police maintain that they have to date seen no evidence of a trend.

Let this be a message to all other thugs out there.
They better let him sit for a very long time, insteead of letting him off scot free without any record as they so often do, which is why the thugs keep at it because they know its a joke that theres no accountability.
This phenomenem is all around America unfortunately. Instead of making the youth accountable and responsible for their actions the opposite is true.

  • so will they throw away the key?

I hope he hangs himself with his dreadlocks!
He and his ilk don’t belong in civilization

  • declasse' intelectual

No #1, the message will be sent only with the appropriate punishment for such hate crimes. However, I have little faith in the liberal left wing justice system in New York.
