KIRYAS JOEL, NY [CHI] — A delegation of local Shluchim, Rabonim and Askonim went to be Menachem Avel the Satmer Rebbe in Monroe yesterday, Sunday.
The group was greeted warmly and heimishly and sat together with the Rabbi Aron Teitelbaum in his home in Kirias Joel, NY.
The delegation included Shluchim; Rabbi Yisroel Rubin, Albany, NY, Rabbi Pesach Burston, Orange County, NY, Rabbi Yonoson Denenbeim, Palm Springs, FL, and Rabbi Bentzion Chanovitz, Shliach in Monticello. Rabonim; Rabbi Moshe Bogomilsky, Rabbi Yitzchok Zirkind, Rabbi Shlomo Segal, along with Rabbi Don Yoel Levy, Rabbi Yossi Freidman, Rabbi Noochie Gross, and Rabbi Berel Levertov.
Together they discussed a veriety of Halachic topics including those of Hallel and Aveilus, which pertained to Shiva.
And Rabbi Noochie Gross recounted the story of when the Rebbe, Reb Yoel Teitelbaum, stayed in Crown Heights before moving to Williamsburg in 1946, Which he heard from Rabbi Yochonan Gurarai Shliach in Cholon Israel, who heard from the Kozlover Rebbes Gabbai, that it was well known that the Kozlover Rebbe had a big library on President Street in Crown Heights and while the Satmer Rebbe stayed in Crown Heights he had spent many hours there, and the Rebbe, before becoming Rebbe, spent time there as well and the two spent many hours schmoozing in Torah.
Following their trip the delegation drove a few miles to check out the new weekday Shul that is being built under auspicious of local Shliach Rabbi Burston.
