Al Jazeera America to Shut Down

The Al Jazeera America cable news network said Wednesday it will shut down two and a half years after its launch.

From U.S. News:

The channel, an offshoot of the Qatar-based Al Jazeera cable network, had trouble persuading cable and satellite companies to carry it, and viewers to watch. It failed despite a promise to offer serious-minded journalism and some award-winning work.

The cable network will shut down on April 30. It launched in October 2013.

WTH are you talking about? What have the constitution or the first amendment got to do with a business failing? On the contrary, the fact that in wartime a business whose purpose was to publish enemy propaganda was allowed to do so shows that the first amendment is strong, perhaps even too strong.

@deClass you got no class. They are going down because Obama is leaving office and Hilary got no chance to win. Good riddance.

#2 You do not understand anything at all. They failed because of whom they are and they covered stores in a way the mainstream media does not sanction. And, if that was not enough, the left wing liberal political correct people wanted to take control over the content of the media.
They are happy to see the station go especially owing to many of their reports and stories. If anything should be banned it is the NEW YORK TIMES and CNN

      What are you talking about?

They made no money and were bank rolled by the oil monarchies who are in severe decline.

They were always a vanity project and now their patron is going broke.
