Video: Crown Heights Merchants Share Business Advice

Starting Thursday, October 31, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs will offer a series of revolutionary classes helping aspiring entrepreneurs achieve their business dreams.

The 12 part course was developed by the Kauffman Foundation for Entrepreneurship, a foundation dedicated to developing the tools for entrepreneurs to succeed in today’s modern economy. Held in partnership with the Hebrew Free Loan Society, the course is open to community members with a legitimate business venture ready to start or in its first two years of running.

This course will include everyday fundamentals from understanding business financials and cash flow, to identifying  target markets and developing a compelling brand.

Participants will also benefit from visits from top real world business experts who will share insight into their areas of expertise, as well as four follow up coaching sessions

The courses will be taught by well-known business coach John Childress. With some six years of teaching hundreds of students, Childress is eager to share his knowledge and entrepreneurial experience.

“This is an incredible opportunity,” Childress said. “Crown Heights is a community on the rise, and I’m happy to be part of it.”

The Hebrew Free Loan Society will also help participants learn more about their interest free-loans. While the loans are open to the general public, according micro-enterprise program coordinator Shlomo Haft, participants in the program will have a critical edge in the approval process.

“People need more than just a dollar to succeed,” Haft said quoting an old proverb. “A vision without action is a daydream, but action without vision is a nightmare. The course will train entrepreneurs in the visionary skills they need to succeed.”

The Course fee $500. Space is Limited and scholarships thanks to a generous grant from CHYE are available.

As a CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner, I have seen countless business’ succeed and others not. I
have compiled the following rules that guarantee a
    business to succeed;
    Rule 1: Trust in H-shm
Rule 2: Get a Brocha from the Rebba
    Rule 3: Increase your Tzdaka

Rinse, and repeat rules 1 and 3 daily.
How do you think ARLANS got so big ???

I couldn’t have agreed more with R’ Eichler. As a business owner a few businesses I know what without solid financials and support from someone who understands the financials it is impossible to succeed.
Make sure whoever does your books know well what they are talking about so your financials are solid and reliable. If you have someone entering data and they don’t know what they are doing it will be garbage in garbage out and you will not be able to make proper decisions based on those reports.
There are many young accountants that are looking for work that may be very good if they have the experience or you can hire http://www.betteraccountingsolutions.com/ which is known to be very good too.
