Rainy Night – trees fall and cars crash

In a pouring Thursday night lots of destruction was left in its wake. First a branch of a tree came crashing down on President St. between Albany and Kingston, falling mere inches away from a pedestrian and B”H it missed him. Followed by an even larger part of a tree that came down on Empire Blvd. between Albany and Troy, there were no reports of any pedestrians in the area when that incident took place.

The highlight of the night was at around 3:30am a car went smashing into 2 parked cars on Crown St. between Kingston and Brooklyn. Eyewitnesses state that they saw a car coming down the street when it all of a sudden went spinning out of control striking 2 parked cars, pushing one of them all the way up onto the sidewalk, the driver then got out and upon seeing the damage he caused he got back into his car and fled the scene. But the fleeing driver did leave a piece of identification behind, his front bumper complete with his front license plate!

Is there any better word than "highlight" to describe a car accident?
