Two men were killed — one by a pair of bicycle-riding gunmen — and four others were wounded during several shootings in Brooklyn, police said Saturday.

On a balmy Friday evening, youths in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood were out in the streets when a 19-year-old was shot at about 10 p.m., police said. The fatal gunfire came from one of two men riding by on bicycles at Sterling Place and Nostrand Avenue.

The 19-year-old victim, whose name police did not immediately release, was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests were made.

A half hour earlier, four other teenagers were shot in a nearby Brooklyn neighborhood, Canarsie.

A 17-year-old youth was shot in the leg and an 18-year-old in the stomach on East 105th Street, police said. Both were taken to Brookdale Hospital, where they were reported in stable condition.

Five blocks over on East 100th Street, gunshots hit a 19-year-old in the ankle and a 16-year-old in the arm, police said. Both were taken to Kings County Hospital, where they were reported in stable condition. No arrests were made in the shootings.

Earlier Friday, at about 7:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot while arguing with a group of other men, police said. One man pulled out a gun and shot the man in the chest and head. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect fled on foot, police said.

Police identified the victim as Jamal Ford, of Brooklyn.

We are aware of another shooting incident that had taken place in the vicinity of Empire and New York on Shabbos night, if you know any details please share it with us, email it to webmaster@CrownHeights.info

A while after this, at about 10:40 pm Friday night , 7 very loud gunshots were heard on President b\w Rochester and Utica. Police came right away but were unable to detect where the shots had come from.

  • right by the precinct.

this shows you what kind of a job the police are doing at protecting us.the shooting shabbos night by the precinct at new york & empire how come the police were not able to catch that shooter?it happenned right by the precinct.shooting somebody at new york & empire by the precinct this shows you just how much the police are protecting us that you can shoot somebody by the precinct & still not get caught.

The problem is that innocent Yidden could get caught in crossfire. For all we know, that may have been what happened to Ephraim Klein HYD. We need to make sure that all crime is taken care of – even though when a schvartz yohr shoots a schvartz yohr it is one less schvartz yohr, when it happens on a busy street in CH we are all in danger.

Let them kill each other in the projects and at their rap concerts, not on the streets where we walk. (BH this time it did not happen in our part of CH but the Nostrand and Sterling Place incident is far too close for comfort).

Itzik_s, you should be ASHAMED of yourself! Saying, "Let them kill each other in the projects and at their rap concerts, not on the streets where we walk," is HATEFUL and relies upon stereotypes.

Shame on you for perpetuating the cycle of hate. Hate is ugly, no matter where is comes from, no?
