Borough Park Jews of All Stripes Celebrate 19 Kislev

1,200 Jews of all stripes gathered together at Heichal Menachem in Borough Park to celebrate Yud Tes Kislev, the Yahrtzeit of the Mezritcher Maggid and Yom Hageulah of the Alter Rebbe.

Among the crowd that filled the hall to capacity were prominent Rabbonim, Roshei Yeshiva, Maggidei Shiur and community leaders.

Among those who addressed the gathering were: Rabbi Leibel Altein, director of Heichal Menachem; Rabbi Moshe Wolfson, Mashgiach Ruchni of Yeshiva Torah V’Daas; Rabbi Yitzchok Goldberg, Rosh Yeshiva in Migdal Ha’emek, Israel; Rabbi Zev Katz and Rabbi Shmuel Heber.

A video of the Rebbe saying a Sicha on completing the Rambam was shown, followed by a performance of the Alter Rebbe’s Niggunim by the Yossi Cohen Orchestra.

The music inspired and uplifted the crowd; at the conclusion of the performance, everyone was out of their seats dancing joyously.

A Farbrengen with Rabbi Goldberg followed the formal event, which lasted until 2:30 in the morning.
