Three Shomrim Volunteers Injured; Three Assailants Arrested In Night Of Violence in Crown Heights
In a night reminiscent of a more violent time, the streets of Crown Heights were labelled dangerous as roving groups of young adults took to the streets looking to cause Halloween havoc. Five Jewish people were injured, including three Shomrim volunteers. Three Assailants were arrested.
Weekly Story: Two approaches to Education
Last week’s story generated a lot of interest and correspondence, so I decided to post another story that is connected to the topic of chinuch (education). The following was related by the Rebbe Rashab, however, I chose not to include in his biography, which I am currently working on. It was said during one of the Sheva Brochos of his youngest sister Harabbonis Chaya Mushka.
Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet to Address the Gala Kinus Hashluchim Banquet
Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch is excited to announce that Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet of London, England will address the Kinus Hashluchim Gala Banquet next month. Rabbi Schochet is the rabbi of Mill Hill Synagogue, London, UK; member of the Chief Rabbi’s cabinet; and chairman of the Rabbinical Council.
The Nine Arrive in Montreal
Today, Friday the third of Cheshvan marks the anniversary of the arrival of nine Lubavitch students to Montreal in 5702 (1941), which brought about the great institutions that exist there today.

Melbourne High School Girls Transform A Community, One Hour A Time
In an incredible display of hard work, determination, and unity, over 130 secondary girls have been volunteering each week as part of Yad L’Ezra iVolunteer. This week, the annual dinner was held honoring the many volunteers.
