Eastern Europe’s Largest Holocaust Museum Unveiled

In advance of the grand opening of the Menorah Jewish Community Center and Holocaust Museum in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine on October 21, some 300 guests and dignitaries attended a preview of the center’s museum Monday, October 16. Rabbi Shlomo Amar, Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel, Mr. Lev Leviev, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the CIS, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, of Lubavitch World Headquarters and Israeli Minister for Diaspora Affairs Minister Yuli Edelstein presided.

MTA Seeks to Hike Subway Fare to $2.75

New York City’s transit authority unveiled its latest fare and toll proposals for rails, bridges and subways on Monday, including one that would raise the 30-day unlimited subway MetroCard from $104 to $125.

NYPD Investigating Officers After Video Surfaces

According to a report from the New York Times, the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating two police officers, Luis A. Vega (24891) and Yelena Bruzzese (9139) – both of whom are assigned to the 71st Precinct, following CrownHeights.info’s release of a video showing the two officers brutally attacking Ehud Halevi. Vega has been placed on modified duty, while Bruzzese has not.
