New Police Recruits Welcomed to Crown Heightses 71st Pct

CROWN HEIGHTS — Over 25 new police recruits were welcomed to Crown Heightses 71st precinct. These new officers just graduated from the police academies latest class and this will be their first tour of duty. The new officers were given a tour of the neighborhood and its landmarks.

Being one of the city’s most diverse neighborhoods, home to religious Jews and Caribbean American immigrants who make up its majority, the officers received a walking tour of Kingston Avenue, 770, the Jewish Children’s Museum and other significant landmarks.

The officers heard from Mrs. Batia Brandel who gave officers some insight into the Jewish community.

The officers will also be hearing from leaders in the black community as well.
