Pair Found Dead in Crown Heights Apartment [Updated]

A man and a woman were found dead in the bedroom of a Crown Heights apartment Sunday evening. The 28-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, whose identities or ethnic background were not released by police, were both discovered unconscious at an apartment on Eastern Parkway near Troy Avenue at about 7:00pm.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

A medical examiner will determine the cause of death. A police spokesman said there were no signs of trauma and it did not appear that anyone had broken into the apartment.

Emergency workers at the scene told CrownHeights.info that they suspect the deaths were the result of a double drug overdose, though it can’t be known for sure until the autopsy is completed.

One of the pair had lived in the apartment, but it wasn’t immediately clear whether it was the man or the woman, a police spokesman said.

Update: Couple Found Dead in Crown Heights from Heroin Overdose

From DNA Info:

A couple was found dead of an apparent heroin overdose in their Brooklyn bedroom Sunday night, police sources said.

Geoffrey Boos, 28, and Sara Boudreaux, 26, who recently moved to New York from Florida, were last seen alive Friday evening in their apartment on 970 Eastern Parkway, said roommate Meral Daniel, 39.

“They were loud,” Daniel said. “Talking, music, drugs.”

Daniel often smelled marijuana and a strong gasoline-type smell coming from their bedroom.

Daniel said the couple’s apartment was uncharacteristically quiet all day Saturday and most of Sunday. It wasn’t until someone looking for the couple knocked on their door about 7 p.m. that Daniel grew suspicious.

She tried the bedroom door and found it locked, she said, prompting her to call 911.

She said when officers arrived and forced the bedroom door open, “Their bodies were inside.”

Officers found Boudreaux on the bed and Boos on the floor. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, police sources said.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office had issued a warrant for Boudreaux’s arrest in 2011 after she failed to show up to court on drug related charges, according to public records.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. A police spokesman said there were no signs of trauma and it did not appear that anyone had broken into the apartment.

I used to ask whether or not people were yidden. But I stopped because it really dosent make a difference. Were all human beings.

    • Milhouse

Of course it makes a difference. The distinction bein yisroel lo’amim is as great as that between domem, tzomeach, chai, and medaber, and as fundamental as that between day and night.

maybe it is a difarence but would you honestly not care if someone dies just because they arent jewish?

    • Chaim Yankel

Milhouse didn’t say he doesn’t care, YOU attached those words to his statement. And, yes, there IS a difference. While this doesn’t negate the tragedy, it certainly doesn’t give so-called frum yidden the right to malign another Jew and his words.

Abba, this “we’re all human beings” garbage is an excuse for your own insecurity. It’s PC nonsense. Saying it is simply a way of avoiding the truth. And since you can’t handle the truth, you try making others feel guilty about their own identities. Contrary to what you make think, this doesn’t make you a big man.

We are all G-ds creatures .
we all stem from the same one man and one woman.
and what ultimately affects outside/inside of little crown heights ends up c”v affecting both yidden and non yidden as well.
remember G-d cried when the mitzriyim were being destroyed while His chosen people finished witnessing one of the greatness miracles done for them – krias yom suf.
Its arrogant to hold oneself higher than others Jew or Non Jew.

  • Should we be glad?

I can understand that we, the Jews, are like one big family. Naturally, even a non-Jew would normally care more about a family member than even, let’s say, a close friend.

But, does that mean that, in this case and others, it was not a tragedy?

  • Every person has their own life to live out

Do you really think like that? I’m asking, because you seem to be literate enough to write clearly and correctly. But WHAT you write strikes me as quite small-minded. Do you walk around in the world thinking, “I am better than every other human being who is not Jewish?” That thought in and of itself makes you NOT better than them, because no one is really better than anyone, speaking in generalities as in children of G-d. As far as acts of kindness, serving Hashem, living your Lubavitch life (are you Luavitch?), frumkeit, etc., if you possess the attitude that you are better than others, you miss the mark! If you say you’re DIFFERENT as a Jew from others, then I can understand. But I feel sorry for you, because you are carrying so much negativity towards anyone not like you in ethnic terms. Or do you also denounce Jews who have chosen a different Jewish path from yours?

Where did Milhouse say that a Jew is better than a gentile? Please show me —- He said there are DIFFERENCES between a Jew and a gentile. YOU and a few others are projecting your own insecurities onto his comments.

The exact words “I am better than every other human being who is not Jewish” was stated by YOU & YOU ALONE! Milhouse never said this. YOU have now created a stream of loshon hara after somehow feeling threatened by his factual statement.

It’s almost a good thing his comment made so many people squirm since it shows what a disaffected, un-Jewish generation we have to deal with. FYI, liberal American values have little to do with Jewish values. If you had any real understanding to either you wouldn’t be offended by Milhouse or anyone else who makes this type of statement.

I am the mother of one of the children found in Your neighborhood…Those two beautiful CHRISTAN people had a disease that life on earth was not in their future. They are at rest with a higher power that ALL of us strive to be with , no matter What religion background we come from. To make judgement, and statements about their lives is disgraceful. May they rest in peace. Remember we are all human and created equal.
