Home Care Agency Bringing Children and Senior Citizens Together

A New York home care services agency is offering free trips to the Jewish Children’s Museum in Brooklyn for all senior citizen groups. In addition, the company, which provides trained caregivers to patients’ homes, is also offering a 15 percent discount to weekday visitors accompanied by at least one grandparent.

Americare executive vice president Faivish Pewzner explained that the idea behind the partnership with the museum – which also houses the headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch international children’s organization Tzivos Hashem – is to encourage children and their elders to spend more time together. The location also provides a setting for children and their families to gain a positive perspective and awareness of Jewish heritage.

“As a service for every community, we are so pleased to partner with the Jewish Children’s Museum, a museum for every community,” said Pewzner, adding that the initiative will “bring seniors and children together for a fun and educational day out.”

Americare, which expanded its services last year to the Crown Heights neighborhood where the museum is located, also sponsored – for the second year in a row – the neighborhood’s annual Lag B’Omer parade.
