Phone Of Famous Jewish Singer Gets Stolen in Crown Heights, Shomrim Comes To The Rescue

Famous Jewish singer, Uri Davidi, came into Crown Heights from the Five Towns Monday to film an upcoming music video. After finishing the video, he shared the story of how his cell phone was stolen, and Crown Heights Shomrim came to the rescue.

The theft began as many do, with a mistake.

While filming a scene outdoors, Uri Davidi placed his cell phone on a nearby cable box while he acted and sang his part. Just a few short minutes later, in precise Crown Heights fashion, the cell phone was gone.

With a lot of important and irreplaceable information on the phone, panic ensued. As Uri confirmed that the phone was stolen through tracking the phone, the police and Crown Heights Shomrim were called.

The chances of having a stolen phone returned are very slim, and hopes were not high. The Shomrim volunteers played a gamble, sending a message to the phone hoping to convince the thief to return it.

As Uri, his producer and the Shomrim volunteers packed into a car, Uri Davidi tells that they decided to turn on his hit song “Nu Nu.” With the song blasting and everyone singing along, the unexpected happened. The thief texted back, “I have your phone.”

A few minutes later, the Shomrim volunteers met up with the person who had the phone. The person cooperated fully, and handed the phone off to a Shomrim volunteer. The volunteer soon reunited the stolen cellphone with its very relieved owner.

That evening, Uri posted the story on instagram, thanking the Shomrim volunteers for their hard work and dedication.
