Jewish Cemetery Vandalized in Philadelphia

Just one week after news of a shocking vandalism of a Jewish cemetery in S. Louis surfaced, another such incident occurred and this time in a Philadelphia Jewish cemetery where dozens of headstones were knocked over.

Local ABC News affiliate WPVI reported that a North Jersey man discovered the shocking scene when he went to visit his fathers grave on Sunday morning. Aaron Mallin told WPVI “I’m hoping it was maybe just some drunk kids. But the fact that there’s so many it leads one to think it could have been targeted.”

The vandalism occurred in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia.

This incident follows another similar one which occurred in a S. Louis Jewish cemetery just one week ago. There too, hundreds of graves were desecrated. “It’s hard to even express how terrible it was,” said Anita Feigenbaum, executive director of the Chesed Shel Emeth cemetery after surveying the vandalism done to an older part of the cemetery, which dates to 1893, according to its website.

Vice president Mark Pence made an unannounced visit to the cemetery. Speaking on a loudspeaker he said “There is no place in America for hatred, prejudice, or acts of violence, or anti-Semitism. I must tell you that the people of Missouri are inspiring the nation by your love and care for this place and the Jewish community.”

Mr. Pence then rolled up his sleeves and assisted in the cleanup effort alongside dozes of community members and other volunteers.

Remember the swastikas in Crown Heights and on the subway trains ? How many white supremacists are in Crown Heights or are riding the trains in liberal NYC?
Is this anti-Semitism or disguised anti-Trumpism by the same liberals who block Zionist speakers at college campuses and equate Zionism with Nazism ?

If you care about potential crime against Jews, go ask NYS Senator Jessie Hamilton about his support for “Raise the Age” which raises the criminal age of responsibility to 18 from 16, based on the idea that the human brain is not fully developed until age 25. http://raisetheageny.com/get-the-facts
( I in no way imply any anti-Semitism allegations towards NYS Sen Jessie Hamilton, but his policies will protect thugs at the expense of innocent Jewish victims in the streets).

The most likely explanation is bored/drunk/stoned teenagers, who vandalise cemeteries all the time, and once in a while happen to pick a Jewish one just because it’s there.

    I did not blame Trump.

I acknowledge that there is anti-Semitism from the left ( swastikas in liberal NYC ) , and from the Atl-right in other locations.

How many recent acts are located within a 20 min drive from liberal democratic neighborhoods or college campuses? The St Louis Jewish cemetery gravestones were a 20 min drive from liberal Ferguson Missouri, the Philadelphia Jewish cemetery is in a liberal city where democrats out number Republicans 7 to 1. The swastikas on the sidewalk in Mineola, NY recently are 5 min from liberal Hempstead, NY.

I assert that the uptick of anonymous anti-Semitic swastikas in close proximity to nearby liberal neighborhoods, is a direct result of an aggressive, confrontational liberal left who are motivated by undermining the Trump Administration by painting it as the cause of more hate.

The liberal left’s aggressive and confrontational reaction to Israel and Zionism on college campuses contributes to my conclusion.

A swastika is of course anti-Semitic, but the uptick and amplification now is anti-Trump, as three years ago it could have been more anti-Israel.

#3 you did not read #1 correctly, reread it.I think that the smart thing now is to treat it as hate crime and let the police do their job.If we make a big “trask” the liberal Jews will make it campaign against Trump. And drag us to have bad relations with the people who are friendly to Israel vis a vis to the Jews.

This is not a liberal or conservative problem.

Not sure how many of these incidents have to occur before everyone acknowledges the sad truth – there are people out there who want to harm us. There are people that blame us for their problems. Nothing new, but still frightening.

It doesn’t matter who someone voted for if they are attacking us. It doesn’t matter what color someone is if they are attacking us. It doesn’t matter how old someone is if they are attacking us.

What’s important is that they are attacking us.

Let’s stop trying to blame this or that from politics. Let’s stop trying to dismiss this. Pick your reason – there is always some reason for people to dismiss these things.

However, if we keep dismissing these attacks we’ll be in trouble.

My suggestion – we find allies where ever they are and in whatever party they hold and we enlist their help in shutting down the hate groups that support this type of attack. There was a similar uptick in the southern US in the 80s, and with lots of work progress was made. Time for us to get to work again.
