Shomrim Apprehend Intruder following Interrupted Break-in

A would-be intruder was apprehended and arrested after he was spotted climbing the front of a Union Street home. Once spotted him jumped from the window and fled into a nearby home only to be confronted and apprehended by Shomrim after a short chase.

The incident occurred at around 9:45pm, Shomrim received a call to their hotline alerting them to a Black man attempting to break in to a Union Street home, just off Albany Avenue.

The caller witnessed the suspect climbing up the security bars of the first floor windows, and once spotted he jumped off the bars and fled into the foyer of the next door home. The caller, who lives on the block, knew that both homes belong to Jewish families immediately called Shomrim and confronted the suspect.

When asked what he was doing the suspect responded “I am looking for my friend Candice,” and when he realized that he was the phone he asked “you calling the cops?” and immediately bolted out the door.

By then it was too late for the suspect. Nearly a dozen Shomrim volunteers were already on the corner of Troy Avenue where the suspect ran into their arms. Police was immediately called and the suspect was promptly arrested and charged with trespassing.

Police sources said that the suspect is identified as being 19 years old and lives nearby on S. Johns Place. He has multiple priors for robberies and burglaries.

  • Can you imagine?

This is not what any sane community should have to deal with on a daily basis. Lock him up and let him be a lesson for others.

  • Saw it

Ultimate professionals shomrim handled it beautifully then handed it off to the police.

  • Soooo New Yorkers

What dose this say after letting him FREE after doing multiple incidence, like it says in the article above. So you think the judge will let him free this time……or it may be the same repeat??????

  • Uncle Mendel

    Racial Profiling !!!
Maybe he wanted to break in because he thought someone needed help inside.
    ARF!

  • Only 19????

This teenage lowlife has many more years of thieving ahead of him. One can only hope some other lowlife (or a terrified homeowner) will put a bullet in his brain. It’s the only thing that will get this career criminal off the streets.

  • It would help if the government would

and some of the black so called “leaders” would spend their time and money helping these youth, from infancy on, to get out of their rut instead of staying in it and learning to blame the whole world for it.

Its scary to think uf we didn’t have such dedicated shomrim how much more there wil be. The thugs know we’re on a look out. The police do a good job by arresting them on the spot but it seems they more afraid of getting in the shomrim hands cuz seems like the police can’t keep up with them

  • get him locked up!

so the police will arrest him and then hell be left free.its not fair to our shomrin who work soo hard to get them arrested and then their free again to do crime!lock them up!!!

The first person who saw this lowlife actually asked him what he was doing? Asked him? How pathetic! Why can’t we believe the evidence of our eyes plus our seychel and take immediate action. No wonder the criminals are not afraid of us. They know that we won’t take any action. We will talk to them. And if you see a burglar mamesh in your house are you going to weakly ask him, “Mister, what do you want?” instead of knocking him over the head with the weapon you always have ready, especially when you are sleeping.
