Theft Leaves Meals Without Wheels

A heartless crook ripped the tires off a ‘Meals-on-Wheels’ delivery truck, which is operated by the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island, under the leadership of Rabbi Moshe Wiener.

From the New York Daily News:

“Someone so mean-hearted to target a vehicle that delivers meals to low-income, homebound seniors is very, very troubling,” said Rabbi Moshe Wiener, executive director of the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island, which runs the local branch of the citywide meals program.

The vehicle was parked a few feet from the front door of the nonprofit’s main office, at 3001 W. 37th St., when the crime occurred last weekend.

The group said it reported the incident to the 60th Precinct.

The charity delivers approximately 350 hot, freshly cooked kosher meals each day to those in need living in Sheepshead Bay and nearby neighborhoods.

This incident is pretty low! Stealing from a truck that delivers food to the needy! Hope that the coward(s) that did this are caught, exposed to the public and media through the news, and get a hefty punishment!
