Burglars Steal Car Tires in Broad Daylight

Crown Heights [CHI] — Last week, a number of cars were ‘hit’ in the Crown Heights neighborhood, with thieves making off with all four of their tires. One of the incidents was witnessed by a resident, who immidiately contacted the police, but the thieves were too quick and the cops too slow: by the time they arrived the thieves, and all four of the car’s tires, were gone.

A car mechanic told Crownheights.info that the value of the tires (and thus, the cost to replace them) can reach a few thousand dollars. He added that a cheap and inexpensive way to protect one’s tires is to buy wheel locks.

As you can see in the photos, one of the burglaries occurred right in front of the Rebbe’s house on President St!

1 He should have called Shomrim the would have responded immediately.
2 It would have been helpful if he noted the license plate of their getaway car.
3 Do not attempt to confront the thieves yourself. It is to dangerous.

  • Seen this before

Be VERY VERY VERY QUIET PATROLING IN THE WEE HOURS WITH YOUR WINDOWS DOWN. SO YOU CAN LISTEN. YOU WILL CATCH THEM. THEY WILL RUN.

You write: “3 Do not attempt to confront the thieves yourself. it is to[o] dangerous.” And that’s precisely why the police took so long to get there. When it’s only property involved they think it’s safer to arrive only after the thieves are gone.

To number three: so what else is new and when there have been shootings, when do the police arrive???

  • WHEN SECONDS COUNT

WHEN SECONDS COUNT THE POLICE IS ALWAYS MINUTES AWAY.

The solution is not wheel locks but gun rights.
