4 Arrested in Borough Park for Attempted ‘Knockout’ Assault

A Jewish man turned the tables on four Hispanic men when he ducked a ‘knockout’ punch, then called Shomrim and followed the group. All of them were apprehended and charged by police with attempting to engage in a knockout assault.

Borough Park, NY – The tables were turned early this morning on a group of Hispanic men intent on playing the Knockout Game on the outskirts of Borough Park, as their intended victim ducked their punch and called for assistance.

“A group of four to five men came towards a Jewish man walking on 18th Avenue and Seton Place,” Yanky Daskal of Borough Park Shomrim told VIN News. “They surrounded him and tried to knock him out but were unsuccessful. They started running away while he called Shomrim but we followed the suspects until the police got there and they were all arrested.”

According to Daskal, the attackers were all in their 20’s.

“One of the perpetrators had 37 prior arrests,” added Daskal.

With area residents concerned for their safety in the wake of the recent attacks, police were out in full force last night according to an investigator at the 66th precinct, who asked to remain anonymous due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

“Everyone is very concerned about the Knockout Game which is happening nationally,” said the investigator. “People see it on YouTube and everyone starts to copy it, wanting to outdo each other. Victims are being picked randomly if they look like easy targets.”

The investigator estimated that the victim of this morning’s attack, which took place at 2:45 AM, was in his mid 20’s.

“He called Shomrim immediately and they had a unit two blocks away,” said the investigator. “Shomrim saw one of our officers and told them there was an assault in progress and he jumped in his car and was there within one minute.”

According to the investigator, over a dozen officers raced to the scene, with patrols having been beefed up after reports surfaced yesterday about a 78 year old woman who was attacked in the area two weeks ago.

“These were copycatters,” said the investigator, adding that the Knockout Game is “spreading like wildfire. Our job is to get the bad guys and protect the community.”

    Lock them up!! if they get out easy, it will send a strong message to anyone that wants to play the knockout game that you could do whatever the **** you want and nothing will happen! Give them a ten year sentence!!

    If all that happens is that they get their wrists slapped and are back on the streets this will get a lot worse. This is gang/mob violence and should be treated severely.
