Shopowners Cellphone Stolen from Counter
In news that is just as depressing as today’s weather, our friends over at Lullaby Baby (488 5th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Street) discovered they were the victims of a cell phone theft on Thursday, June 6.
Owner Yossi Rapoport said that his phone was taken from the store’s counter at around 12:30pm.
“The person (seen to the right in a still from a neighboring store) came in and asked me a few questions,” Yossi explained. ”I had to get something from the car in front of the store, and he came out and said he would be back later.
“15 minutes later, I am looking for my phone and it’s not there. We checked the video cameras, and you can see his back to the register and camera. Then he reaches across takes the phone.”
A similar theft occurred back in April at 7th Avenue’s El Milagro.
We reached out to the 78th Precinct this morning, but were unable to obtain any new details. Lullaby Baby is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the 5th Avenue thief.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.

Invest in a belt clip, and next time, don’t leave valuables unattended. Your store may be in tony Park Slope, but it’s still Brooklyn. At least he didn’t rob the register or your stock. Hope you get it back, but don’t count on it.

This store is located in PARK SLOPE. Cheap ploy to get advertisement for the store!!! Who cares what happened there! My cell phone was stolen in Florida, want to write a story about that?

#1 First of all the store does not need to advertise as its sells on its own, anyone that goes to the shop falls in love with it and will tell their family and friends about the store
# 2 the shop never asked to post this on CH.INFO, this happened to be on a news site in park slope and CH.INFO took the story and posted it
# 3 this thief shops around in stores and looks to take what he can by posting his picture hopefully someone will have information on him

#7 Before you go ahead and start shtick, I believe this story was taken from southslopenews. If the store wanted publicity, they would have done a story on their grand opening, dont ya think?
And why target them? Ask CH.info why they decided to publish this story. Its a cheap ploy! Ch.info needs news so they publish every story. Do you hear yourself?

I want to say this is truly an amazing store I come from Lawrence and bring my 2 married daughters and my 3 daughter in laws to shop here, yes I pay for it :) however they will never go anywhere els! Yosi is truly amazing and knowledgeable with the ultimate customer service. My late husband had womans clothing stores all over the east and west side of the city and in other city’s he would spend so much money in creating his sales people to be PEOPLE! And Yosi is the ultimate “people” he would say “anyone can open a store and hire salespeople but what will make them come back?? its amazing how natural Yosi is with his support truly caring and honesty and that’s why we keep coming back and when you see the store you just fall in love and can’t wait to go back!
I am so sorry yosi for your loss this should only be your disappointment in life

A similar incident occurred this past Tuesday 06/04/13 at Chagall Bistro on 5th Ave and 5th Street in Park Slope, at around 9:30 someone swiped the owner’s iPhone from the counter. This is insane, guys, please activate your ‘Find-My-iPhone’ feature, it’ll help catch these hoodlums.
