Attempted Mugging at Knife Point

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Bochur on his way home at 1:30am was accosted by a masked perpetrator who pulled a knife out and demanded the Bochurs Money. The incident took place on Lefferts and Schenectady Avenues.

The perpetrator was described as a Black male, wearing a blue hoodie, blue long down coat, approximately 5”6 and in his early 20’s. The perpetrator initially approached the Bochur and told him he was hungry and asked for money, then quietly told the Bochur to hand over his money and pulled out the knife.

The Bochur called 911 and Shomrim as he began fleeing in the other direction, police responded within seconds in large numbers and began searching the area for the perpetrator. Shomrim then assisted the Bochur with filing the police report.

    wow the police actually came in timely fashion? How long did it take for the report to be filed (when I did it, a 10 minute process took 3 hours) I hope this new promptness is an indication that police are finally doing right by us

    It was 1:30 in the morning, when the cops have nothing better to do… Though credit is definitely given. I would like to see them respond like that in broad daylight.

    Your cynicism is pathetic. Give credit when it is due. the NYPD did do the right thing in this case, and should be commended or at least acknowledged. It may well be in anticipation of Thursday’s meeting, but so be it – we must keep up the good communication and also keep the heat on, so that we continue to receive good protection

    May i point out that over the next few days the yud shevat weekend with farbrengens happening all over ch including the big one at Beis Rivkah. To all people, Bochurim, girls etc be extremly careful while walking. Preferebbly walk together with someone else. Dont be so cocky. The muggers dont discriminate between the Bochur who thinks he can ‘take down’ the mugger to the Bochur who doesnt…

    My point is be careful!

    Why are our children out so late at night in such a location.If they need to then at least it should be in groups or get a ride.Parents , drill this into your kids head.Doesnt mattter if their twelve or twenty .

    This is so bad. I really don’t like it. Talk to the govermendt. Call them right after you do the things you have to do…(the production, work, school. CH better call or write to them this has to stop. CH is the best.
