Three girls, two sisters Chaya Mushka, 10, Malka, 8, and friend Sara, 11 walked out of their house at around 1:00pm to buy a gift and have not been seen since. Shomrim received a call and messages were posted to social media sites at around 6:00pm, and a search began.

Dozens of Shomrim volunteers sprung into action and began search local stores and Shuls, the NYPD was contact and they gave resources and assisted in the search.

After reaching out to the parents of every classmate, Shomrim learned that the girls like to hang out in various stores in the area, and the girls were located in a Family Dollar store and were returned home.

Chv’ Cholleela, must we have another “incident” (C’V ‘) to remember how dangerous Brooklyn is?

3 little kids allowed to walk the streets of Crown Heights? Maybe we should re-examine our thinking of letting our kids just “go outside”.

  • thank you shomrim

The coordination and achdus amongst the shomrim volunteers is something that should be admired and emulated by all.

Thank you shomrim volunteers for supporting your fellow Crown Heighters.

  • Thank You Shomrim!!!!

The girl Sarah was NOT missing for six hours. She was tagged along with those two girls at around 5.30 PM before shabbos and got caught up in the rain inside the 99c store with them scared of the rain.

  • kids need to learn!

THEY NEED TO TELL THEIR PARENTS IF THEY WILL BE LONGER THAN EXPECTED! ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE UNDER 14!

  • Mom

    To uncle:
Two of the girls are 10 and 11, not babies. You can’t keep kids locked inside. Three together, with a cellphone, teach them the best safety rules and Hashem should watch over them.

  • Where were the parents?

What time was it when they realized their kids were missing? I saw it on FB close to 6:00. From 1:00 till the community was alerted was 5 hours!!!! Why did they wait so long?

    • malcab

the parents had started their search long before it was posted on fb

  • FINALLY #7

you are a man of my own heart! I am a mother and a grandmother and I am always SHOCKED at how lackadaisical the mothers are of their children’s safety. I see 8 year old pushing strollers with younger siblings across streets with no adult supervision. Then there are the mothers who walk down the streets wheeling a stroller with another toddler of about two walking about 10-15 feet behind her while she is totally engrossed with her cell phone! Is this neighborhood so safe that it’s unthinkable for someone to chas vesholom jump out of a car and simply grab a child???? why is the stupid phone more important than their children?????

    • My all time favorite from another bubby

Wheeling kids into an intersection while waiting to cross the street and then texting, not paying any attention to the child in the stroller, any others with her, or the traffic. It’s a miracle we haven’t had bad accidents.
