Young Shluchim Invited to Global Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen
For Yaldei Hashluchim living sometimes hundreds or thousands of miles from another frum family, moments of connection matter. This Tuesday, Yud Tes Kislev, MyShliach is bringing together young shluchim from around the world for its annual farbrengen celebrating the Rosh Hashana of Chassidus and The Alter Rebbe’s Chag Hageulah.
“Our goal is to create a community where young shluchim, no matter where they live, can connect with friends who share their unique experience,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “These programs give them a sense of belonging and connection to the worldwide family of Shluchim.”
Two farbrengens will take place to accommodate shluchim across time zones: one for the U.S at 7:00 PM EST, and one for Europe at 6:30 PM GMT. Both programs are catered to all young shluchim, boys and girls, who want to celebrate this special day together as one global family.
The farbrengen will be led by master storyteller Rabbi Achiezer Langsam of MyShliach StoryHour, who will present the story of Yud Tes Kislev in a fun and engaging way. The program will include Nigunim by singer Eli Marcus, opportunities for Torah, Tefillah, and Tzedakah, led by the Yaldei Hashluchim, and special raffles for participants.
The energy is already building. This past Sunday, over 100 Yaldei Hashluchim logged on for MyShliach’s Tes and Yud Kislev farbrengen, marking the Mitteler Rebbe’s birthday, histalkus, and chag hageula. Rabbi Zushi Rivkin, shliach in Pasadena, California, shared stories and lessons from the Mitteler Rebbe, and three young shluchim, nine-year-old Mendel Gerlitzky from Kona, Hawaii, Efraim Schmukler from Las Cruces, and Leibel Bukiet from Davie, Florida, took the virtual stage to share their own shlichus experiences.
“These young Shluchim are experiencing the Chodesh Hageula together, from one Farbrengen to the next,” said Rabbi Mendy Hirsch, MyShliach’s Achi Sheli coordinator at Merkos 302.
To help families celebrate at home, MyShliach recently shipped hundreds of Farbrengen in a Box packages to communities worldwide. Each box includes fun crafts and farbrengen guides, enabling even the most remote shlichus posts to mark Yud Tes Kislev with enthusiasm.
Behind the farbrengen is the MyShliach team at Merkos 302, led by Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz and Program Director Rabbi Yossi Elberg, with production and logistics by Mendy Hirsch and Moshe Weiss.
Young shluchim can join Tuesday’s farbrengen at 7:00 PM EST, and 6:30 PM GMT myshliach.com/farbrengen.
