Hurwitz Bar Mitzvah Takes Place in Crown Heights

Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz, Shliach to Temacula California, attended his sons Bar Mitzvah in Crown Heights Motzai Shabbos. The event took place at Lubavitcher Yeshiva, and  attracted hundreds to the Simcha.

The simcha hall at Lubavitcher Yeshiva Crown Street was transformed Motzai Shabbos, as it hosted the bar Mitzvah of Sholom Hurwitz, son of Rabbi Yitzi and Dina Hurwitz, the Shluchim to Temacula California.

Rabbi Hurwitz, who is battling ALS, a disease that has left him unable to speak or move, was flown in to New York earlier this week by Hatzolah Air, and brought to Crown Heights by volunteers from Crown Heights Hatzalah.

Prior to the trip, Rabbi Hurwitz, wrote a letter to the public using a special eye gaze communication system. In the letter, he notifies anash of his planned arrival, and writes that the trip “….is a big undertaking for my wife, family, friends, and the Hurwitz family fund. I am grateful to them for making this trip possible, I don’t know when I will be able to do it again.”
