Monsey Mesivta Welcomes New Sefer Torah

Mesivta Lev Tmimim Lubavitch of Monsey celebrated the Simcha of their new Sefer Torah Sunday. The ceremony was the culmination of the Avos Ubonim Shabbaton, at which almost all fathers of the boys in the Yeshiva – all of whom are out-of-towners – came to spend 48 hours of learning, Davening, Farbrenging, and inspiration with their sons.

On Sunday, the fathers and Bochurim were joined by their mothers and siblings, as well as Monsey Anash, for the dedication of the Sefer Torah. The Sefer Torah was a gift of the Buchman-Bullard family of Eretz Yisroel, in memory of the patriarch and matriarch of the family, Yitzchak and Soro Baila Buchman.

Shliach of the Rebbe and father of one of the Talmidim, Rabbi Raphael Benchimol, Rov of Manhattan Sephardi Congregation, opened the ceremony with a talk about the connection between this Torah and the Talmidei HaYeshiva who will be benefiting from it. He spoke at Congregation Tzemach Tzedek, where the procession began, followed by the Tahalucha towards the Torah’s new home at Mesivta Lev Tmimim Lubavitch.

The Simcha was multiplied by the joining in of the Bochurim of Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey, as well as many local residents from other Monsey shuls.
