Chabad of the Five Towns. Inset: Yan Kossa.

Man Arrested for Luring Girl into His Car

A 39-year-old man was arrested Shabbos afternoon at Chabad of the Five Towns after he allegedly lured the 7-year-old daughter of a fellow worshipper into his car.

According to police, Yan Kossa, 39, of Far Rockaway, approached the girl and asked her if she wanted to go outside with him. He then led the girl outside and put her inside his car.

CBS New York reports that Kossa then went back into the Chabad and told the girl’s father what he did.

The child was found safe inside the vehicle, which was parked down the street from the Chabad.

Kossa was charged with unlawful imprisonment in the second-degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

in this case, it seems that he was asking for help, but its frightening and horrible.

  • maybe...

…he wanted to wake the father up – that his child was unsupervised and vulnerable?
    Watch your child. Please.

Are you kidding me? And even if u were correct on your grandiose assumption how is this acceptable behavior in any way for a grown man with a 7 year old child? The police were likely contacted because the child was not permitted to go anywhere with this individual.

yes it is very much so,,,, or maybe this guy is very very dumb, many doubts here

  • Reminder

Fathers, watch your kids at ALL times!
It only takes a minute for something like this to happen! If they cant be at your side in Shul, then their place is at home with their mothers, or whoever can take care of them there! Please, lets be on the lookout constantly!

I’ve heard different versions of the story. 1 that shul members told the father and called the police and then 2, this version. I wonder which is true.
