CROWN HEIGHTS — A 9-year-old child was critically injured in an early Shabbos morning accident in the intersection of Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway. EMS treated the boy and Hatzalahs assistance was not needed and according to DNAinfo he is currently listed in critical condition in Kings County Hospital.
A 9-year-old boy was in critical condition Saturday after a livery car struck him at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue at 8:55 a.m.
The child was crossing the four-lane roadway from north to south against the signal when a green 2004 Mercury town car, headed westbound, slammed into him, police said.
The 44-year-old driver remained on the scene, police said, and no criminality was suspected. The boy was rushed to Kings County Hospital, police said, and had suffered severe head trauma in the accident.
An accident investigation team was continuing to look into the incident Saturday, police said.

Complete and speedy recovery. Parents we have to teach our children to cross better , we have to make absolutely sure they are careful, i stop kids all the time and tell them that was not a good cross , as for me i did not let my kids cross EP or Empire till after 13 they dreaded my over protectivess but thats my job as their parent. Let them balk at me as much as they like.

When you say you didn’t let your kids cross Eastern Parkway or Empire Boulevard until 13 I assume you mean you didn’t let them cross without an adult. But if you look at other news reports about this accident they say the boy was crossing against the light together with his grandfather.
