Running Red Light Causes Parkway Accident

Two vehicles collided on Eastern Parkway, after one blew through a red light, injuring a number of passengers. UPDATE: One driver charged with driving while intoxicated.

The accident occurred in the intersection of Troy Avenue and Eastern Parkway at approximately 10:00pm, one of the vehicles, a Chevrolet Suburban car service was traveling westbound on eastern parkway when a Nissan Altima crossed the intersection and collided with its rear end.

It was not immediately clear who had disregarded the traffic signal.

The Nissan spun a complete 360 and ended up on the sidewalk, thankfully not hitting any pedestrians.

A number of a passengers in the vehicles required medical attention, but none appeared to be serious.

UPDATE: The driver of the Altima was arrested at the scene for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

    a blessing in disguise that this was an easy way to get an DWI off the street. Hope he is off the street for a LONG time.
