3-Year-Old Falls from 3rd Story Window

At 6:30 this morning the parents of young children awoke to the sounds of their child screaming, to their horror they discovered that their three-year-old son had fallen from the window of their 3rd floor apartment.

The parents told CrownHeights.info that apparently their 5-year-old and 3-year-old were up early and playing, at some point the older child managed to open a locked fire escape window and the younger one crawled out.

While playing outside the younger child fell from the fire escape to the ground below.

“Miraculously [he] is expected to make a full recovery, thanks to G-ds help the ground was saturated and soft” a family member told CrownHeights.info, adding that “the window was properly locked but according to the law you cannot have a padlock on a fire escape, and the 5-year-old was able to open it.”

Hatzalah was called and they transported the child to a local hospital. After some checkups doctors discovered that the child is suffering from internal injuries, which are considered serious, but the boy is expected to make a full recovery.

I know how the family feels. A word of warning – be prepared for official intervention & harrassment. They love to think we (frum yidden) abuse our kids & you will be reported for neglect etc. Know your rights, stand your ground & if you are in a building, contact the landlord because they will be facing all sorts of violations.

B”H the child is OK – also, in my case too, we were B”H very lucky too. It’s terrifying.

    An update:
The internal injuries were NOT serious Their was some internal bruising, but everything is working fine.
As far as Mitzvas Ma’akeh is concerned, it was a fire escape window that they opened, there isn’t any possibility of a ma’akeh.
May Hashem protect all of our children and grandchildren from harm!

it is true that they will come and investigate the family, as they should. It is not antisemetic, it is protocol. Not to say that there is no people that dont like Jews in CPS.

My brother once fell from a chair and broke a bone in a suspicious way, that night they came to our house to ask questions. No harm done.

If they dont investigate when there are issues that are suspect of abuse, such as in nj a few years ago, kids can be harmed for life or worse.
