We often hear the names of different disabilities, but do we really understand the challenge they imply?

The position is best suited for those who like detail oriented work where accuracy is very important, with less emphasis on customer interaction.

Shluchim’s Homes Damaged by Gaza Rockets

This morning, hours before a ceasefire was set to take hold between Israel and Hamas, dozens of rockets and mortar shells rained down on southern Israel from Gaza. One rocket caused much damage and destruction to the homes of Rabbi S. Gruzman and Rabbi Shneur Lieberman, both Chabad Shluchim in Ashkelon. In the nearby Eshkol region, a mortar shell killed one Israeli man and injured two others.

Released Time to Host Conference in Queens

With the coming school year on the horizon, Released Time program is happy to announce that it will I”YH be hosting a conference this upcoming Labor Day, September 1st.  It will be taking place in Queens, with the focus being to give the weekly instructors an opportunity to unite and revitalize.

I am writing this op-ed anonymously because, after all, my daughter is a teenager, and needs her privacy. But remembering how I agonized at this time last year, I felt that I just had to share my story in the hopes that maybe it will help someone else.

The photographs will be displayed in a unique gallery that will go on view next month in Manhattan.

Picture of the Day: Hot Dogs, Car Batteries and Tefilin

Crown Heights community member Mendel Goldstein was on a trip with his family in Long Island yesterday; when it was time for lunch, he hooked up a miniature microwave oven to his car battery to cook some hot dogs. As he prepared the meal, the owner of the adjacent ‘air trampoline’ establishment came out to see what he was doing. In the ensuing conversation, it was revealed that the man was Jewish and hadn’t put on Tefilin since his Bar Mitzvah – which was 40 years ago.
